Incunabulum Researcher / London, United Kingdom

Born in Amsterdam in 1932, Lotte Hellinga-Querido, granddaughter of the eminent publisher Emmanuel Querido, is an important book scholar and incunabula researcher. She was particularly interested in the Dutch early printing. As the first female Gutenberg Prize winner special significance is ascribed to her. Among the reasons for the awarding of the Gutenberg Prize of the City of Mainz and the International Gutenberg Society in 1989 were her studies on the Mainz Catholicon as well as her contribution in establishing the Incunabula Short Title Catalogue.
