Werner von Bergen

Profession/Position:
TV journalist and senior editor in the main editorial department of Culture and Science of ZDF, specializing in cultural special projects.

Gutenberg's meaning for me:
As a journalist, Gutenberg is almost a saint to me. Without his ingenious invention, my profession would not exist. In today's ever-changing media world, Gutenberg, who has changed the world, is a luminous star.

My goals:
I would like to work hard to make the Gutenberg Society more attractive to younger people. In the Gutenberg Society you can meet very interesting people - and with them I would like to think about the influence of the media revolution on the world of books.

My target audience:
I sustainably support our "Jour Fixe" in the Mainz Café Codex. I would particularly like to work for younger people who have (could) have an interest in the Gutenberg Society and give fresh impulses to the Society.

Why IGS:
The Gutenberg Society offers a network of very interesting people who deal primarily with the printed and digital media world. The Gutenberg Yearbook, which is a free donation to a membership, is not only a charming bibliophile collection, but above all a compendium with the very latest scientific look in the areas of book art and printing. With the Society you will be smarter! And you can still make fun trips with the Society.
