flora – from herbal book to plant power

[Translate to Englisch:] Ausstellungsplakat mit einer Blume und der Schrift "flora"
Exclusive curator's tour of the exhibition ‘flora – When roots grow into wonders’ ("flora – Wenn aus Wurzeln Wunder wachsen") with Ulla Reske and Prof. Anja Stöffler (Hochschule Mainz)

From 8 May to 23 August 2026, the multimedia exhibition Flora will explore the intricate relationship between humans, health, and plants. Drawing inspiration from the early German-language herbal book Gart der Gesundheit (Garden of Health), written in Mainz in 1485, the exhibition will explore historical and modern perspectives on medical knowledge and ecological challenges. Students at Mainz University of Applied Sciences were staging the exhibition in a unique collaboration with the Gutenberg Museum and the Natural History Museum, which are currently sharing the museum building and exhibiting together for the first time.
